Today is (Canadian) Thanks Giving. I made myself suffer by enjoying the yummy dinner my parents made last night. What’s a little extreme pain and being confined to the bathroom when turkey and stuffing is concerned? Right? Especially my family’s stuffing. Yum.
So the fun that was the conference is over. It might possibly have killed my bosses, but it’s over. We don’t have to deal with it anymore. It was rather a disappointment and I didn’t get a long weekend. Whatever. I have today off and that gave me a whole two days off in a row and I needed that. Today off also meant I could eat that dinner last night. I can be up all night sick and not have to worry about waking up early to get to work. Heh.
I have just spent a small fortune on iTunes and Amazon.ca (and I checked the prices on Amazon.com and there was maybe a $0.50 – $1.00 difference in the prices, so I went with the Canadian site – less shipping costs. ;)). I now have some new music and will soon have two new books (and two books I have read but wanted to own) on their way to me. Yay. I can’t even get the two books I wanted in the store, even though they should be out already. AND it’s bloody ridiculous to pay Canadian prices in the store when our dollar is finally HIGHER than the US one. (Which I find very odd.)
When the hell did I start to like Bruce Springsteen and Annie Lennox? Seriously. And that new Maroon 5 song? I like it. I am ashamed to say – because I hate the hell out of Maroon 5. Yeech.
Anyhow, I am slowly building up my Airmiles and can almost afford one round-trip ticket to almost anywhere on WestJet. Now it’s just a matter of deciding if I want to hit California or save it and take a honeymoon with Shawn and go back to DisneyWorld (shut up, we liked it). That is, of course, assuming he’ll soon have a job that allows him to take vacation and stuff. We’re working on that. Since I upgraded my credit card I am collecting one exciting airmile for every $10 spent. Woot. And since I now try to pay for everything with credit (and then pay it off at the end of the month, rather than just spend from the bank account) I’m getting a nice chunk of airmiles per month. Woo!
Health matters – suck. I am at least losing weight (slowly, though). A benefit to the suffering.
With the conference over I might actually have time to visit internet-land once in a while. I have been so MIA from everything cyber it’s been tough. I have a ton of email to catch up on (that isn’t work related) and I have blogs to read and stories to post. I miss all my internet friends. 🙁
This afternoon we’re hitting the mall so I can try to buy myself some pants that don’t have holes in the crotch. I find that an important factor in my pant-wearing. Especially for work.
Catch you all soon – I hope!!
