Jame of Book Chic Club

My fifth wedding anniversary which was July 2.

And a ramble about the construction on my street and how it effects my postal service. You can follow along that debacle on Beyond Elsewhere if you so please.

And my addiction to FrontierVille on Facebook of which I am quite ashamed. Sigh.

So that’s it except for one final question if you’re still here. I generally do not like video blogs. I hate the term “vlog” (and “social media” for that matter, but I digress). So I want to know – do you watch these things? Is there even a point to my ever making a video? I’m not fishing for compliments or anything, but I do feel like a fool making them and talking to my camera in the guest room and I only have the crappy Windows Movie Maker to edit with but I sort of like some web video things and I don’t know. I guess what I am asking is – if someone (not just me) posts a video blog, do you watch it?

  • Erica

I feel you should vlog more often because you are awesome. And I love your stories! I most definately watched the entire thing!

    • Cat

I am particularly frustrated by the postal service situation right now. It’s like a fricken easter egg hunt where we go to one location and get a clue to the next location and then VOILA! You get what you’re looking for.

  • Kelli

I love Kim Harrison! I haven’t met many other fans of the Rachel Morgan series and I don’t know why—I think that series is excellent. I recently read and reviewed the entire series. Do you know when her next book is coming out? Her website won’t say…
    Happy reading!

    • Cat

It’s true, I haven’t met a lot of people who adore the series either. When I worked in the bookstore when the books first came out I made sure to recommend them to all my customers! I still recommend this series to my coworkers and have a couple hooked now.

  • the story siren

ha! i loved it! and i watched the whole thing! and I do always watch your entire video blogs!

and j was heard it while he was cleaning… and he said. now i understand why you two get along do well. lol! i thought it was hilarious!

fantastic books this week for you though, i really need to read that kim harrison series, the adult one. isn’t there like a dozen books in that series….

hope you had a wonderful anniversary! play lego harry potter for me!

    happy reading!

    • Cat

There are currently only 8! See? Much less daunting than a dozen!

Hmm, maybe J will be more into coming to visit us up here now!

So far Lego Harry Potter is confusing and not as fun as Lego Star Wars. 🙁 But you CAN flippendo people. Yay!

  • Kathy Martin

I will have to admit that I very seldom watch vlogs. Usually I am trying to look at so many IMM posts that I don’t want to spend the extra time. I am very eager for my copy of The Search to arrive. I love Nora Roberts. Here is my mailbox this week. Happy reading!

    • Cat

I will be honest, I don’t watch video blogs either. I watch Kristi’s at The Story Siren only in general (mostly because I hope that her dog, Xander will appear!). That’s why I feel like it’s stupid that I make one if I don’t watch them myself.

I always think you’re one of my Music librarians from work. She has the same name. 😉

  • Sya

A Dorkus with an exceptionally pretty necklace! Interesting books this week too… I generally don’t watch Vlogs all the way through. I like them but follow a lot of blogs so always have loads of IMMs on a Sunday to get through.

    • Cat

Oh, thank you! I am so happy with that necklace! You know I got it through Avon for only $9? It was the best necklace purchase I made last year. 😉

I look at the pictures of the books on the IMM posts. I don’t really read them. *blush* And I rarely watch videos. I don’t know why I felt like making one myself. I’m an odd duck.

  • T.V and Book Addict

I know I’m an awful person for saying this but I hardly ever watch vlogs. I’m just not a video watcher. Not ever youtube. I only go there to listen to music sometimes. I’m more of a reader of posts/books and watcher of movies and tv shows and that’s it. I know I’m so strange 😉
Anyway, I love your hair and happy anniversary!! That must be so exciting and awesome so congrats! 😀
I really really really want to read Kim Harrison’s books. They’ve been on my tbr list for so long and I just keep hearing so many great things over and over.
    Enjoy all your new reads!

    • Cat

READ KIM HARRISON’S ADULT SERIES!! Do it!! Do it!! 🙂

Again, I don’t watch video blogs much either. But I do watch things on youtube. 😉

  • Vanessa

Happy Anniversary 🙂 Great books! Looking forward to your reviews.
These are the ones we got this week: Vlog
    Take care!
    Book ? Soulmates

    • Cat

I’m looking forward to reading those books! And it’s hard to wait because they look so good. I might have to preschedule all my reviews. 😉

  • Ladytink_534

Finger Lickin’ Fifteen wasn’t too bad but I wasn’t overly impressed. I couldn’t get into White Witch Black Curse enough to read Black Magic Sanction but they’re still waiting patiently on my TBR bookcase.

I’m not that crazy about vlogs but I will occasionally watch them if I have the time.

  • PolishOutlander

This is me finally catching up! Loved the video! I love the fact that you and your father read the same stuff. My dad is too busy reading freemason and history books to even think about contemporary books. And what a great anniversary present to yourselves: video games!!!!!!!! I have the first book in the Rachel Morgan series but still haven’t managed to read it yet even though I want to, since again, it would be totally out of my comfort zone. And oh the trials and tribulations of the post office. I’ve had my fair share of them here with ours too, especially the whole “pick your package between the hours that you are at work, so try the weekend when you’ll have to stand in line for over an hour.” Off to read the anniversary post now 🙂
