Challenges: Harry Potter & Stephanie Plum

Wow, just had a thought about how bizarre it would be for those two to meet up. There's an odd pairing for a cross-over, eh? *giggle* Well, I saw these two challenges out there and thought, hmm, I might be able to accomplish this - after all I have a year and a half. Why not?Firstly:

Harry Potter Reading Challenge! Read or listen to all seven books in the Harry Potter series

  • Sorcerer’s Stone
  • Chamber of Secrets
  • Prisoner of Azkaban
  • Goblet of Fire
  • Order of the Phoenix
  • Half-Blood Prince
  • Deathly Hallows

The challenge will run from August 1, 2009 to July 31, 2010. This is hosted by Michelle at GalleySmith! There are even prizes! (Although I think I shall back out of entering as I already own the complete US-version paperbacks of this series.)Secondly:

The Stephanie Plum Reading Challenge! This is hosted over on J. Kaye's Book Blog.

The goal is to get caught up on the Stephanie Plum series, so create a list of the books you haven't read yet. You have between now and December 31, 2010. Don't include books you've read prior to or started before 7/23/09.

Even though I am going to use this challenge as an excuse to re-read the series from start to finish (I love this series!) I technically only have 2 books left to read to get caught up - and those are the two new releases this year: [EDIT: I never read the 14th book! So I have added one more title]:

Fearless FourteenPlum SpookyFinger Lickin' Fifteen

Since I do have until the end of 2010 to read them, I am happy. Why? Because I buy these books in paperback and they are currently hard cover (as are most new releases these days!). So I'll have ample time to get them read. I don't think my University library carries them, I'll check though. As an employee I can take out books - which is fantastic because Sassymonkey just let me know the Education Library has a ton of YA that I have been wanting to read but didn't want to buy.

But I digress... these are two challenges I think I might be up for. I tend to stay far, far, away from challenges because I suck at them. But I think these two are doable - I have the books (or at least will be getting them!).
