destruction chronicles - sneaky, ninja construction workers!

When you leave the house for a doctor's appointment and are only gone for an hour and 15 minutes you do not expect to come home and discover you can not get into your driveway because you suddenly have a trench in your front yard.

I know we have always wanted a home with a moat surrounding it, but we'd have at least built the draw bridge before digging the moat! The odd part is that there was no sign of any construction worker or machine when we left the house at 9:50 this morning. Shawn came down our street and was about to turn into the driveway when we both realized - hey! TRENCH! And quickly avoided being stuck in it. ;)Almost as soon as we got home (and parked across the street!) the moving truck which was next door pulled out and the construction workers reappeared and continue to dig up the trench.

Dig, dig, dig.Have to say that I am happy my appointment was early this morning or I might not have made it out of the driveway! I haven't seen anyone knock on doors to let people know they were digging things up. Maybe I missed it. But really we were only gone an hour and 15 minutes! (Which by the way - most awesome hospital follow up experience ever!)

Since I didn't sleep much last night and I am not falling asleep while writing this, I might head on up to the bedroom and try to nap.

Currently the tractor guy is sitting in front of our dead tree while on the phone so there's not much digging going on. ;)And to think, I thought nothing was going to happen for a long time. I had hopes when last Monday (July 12) a truck went by spraying the street with rainbows...

But after that truck went by nothing else happened until yesterday. Huh.I wonder if more stuff will happen today? Like, you know, maybe filling IN the trench with cement so they can make the er... curb thingies.
