gee whiz
Here I am blogging from my own computer once more. The downside is that the hard drive did indeed die a horrible death and nothing was recovered from it. I am now starting from scratch and reinstalling everything I had on the old HD. We'll be buying me an external HD this weekend. Shawn doesn't know it yet, but it's happening. ;)Thankfully, many of my photos for the last few months were all taken with Instagram, so even though they are no longer on my phone and went up in the ether with my HD, I know I can download them from the IG site and have them back on my computer. What sucks is that I no longer have a lot of my edited videos and any music I put on my mac but had not transferred to my iPhone. I am also going to be missing a bunch of photos I didn't take with IG, but I'm not too upset about that, unless I lost a lot of Annie photos. That would make me sad.So far, I have managed to lock myself out of my server because I messed up my password when setting up the FTP client. Lovely. I might end up having to call Black Sun tomorrow morning and beg them to reset me. I really need to write down my stupid passwords somewhere. I was CERTAIN it was one I have always used for it, but it didn't work, so I don't know what it is now. Dammit.I'd also like to send many, many thanks to the awesome that is Google because once I reinstalled Chrome, it auto synced all my bookmarks and I didn't lose passwords for websites, either. THIS IS AMAZING TECHNOLOGY, PEOPLE! *hugs google*I am going to also transfer all 24GB of photos from my old PC back to this one. The photos only go until July 2011, but at least I have them. They go back to 2004, so this is important to me. Also all my blog images (so I can finally get rid of my winter theme again!) and book images.Tomorrow is Shawn's birthday and I haven't done a thing to prepare for it. I have been SO SICK that I can't go out in public because I'm coughing way too much and too often. I am hoping to be better enough tomorrow to hit up the store for food, card and present, but I don't know how that's going to go. I am a horrible wife, as Shawn has done nothing but spoil me this week while I have been sick. He even stayed home with me on Monday when I was at my worst and kept me company at the doctor. He took my computer into the apple store, picked it up, went out and got all my various food craving stuffs, got me various medicines. He's an amazing man.I haven't even been able to get him a bloody card. Ugh.Back to setting up the computer. I don't deal well with change and trying to remember how I had everything set up just from Monday is driving me insane! GAH!
