have yourself a merry little christmas
It's Christmas Eve and the presents have all been unwrapped... oops! The one thing Shawn and I have always had trouble with was waiting until the 25th to have our Christmas. The last couple of years we've had to travel all over town on Christmas day to visit both our families, so I guess it didn't matter too much to us if we had Our Christmas early. This year we're staying in one place - ours. We had Christmas with my family last weekend and then we'll be having Christmas with Shawn's family next weekend(ish). Both families will be away on Christmas Day. We were going to have this, our first married christmas, together on Christmas Day.We made it until early afternoon.Next thing we knew? There were presents under the tree!It wouldn't be Christmas without a little something for the dogs - and this year we have TWO! And yes, we're the kind of people who give stockings to the dogs. We didn't actually wrap anything this year. Mostly out of laziness. Ha! But really, they wouldn't have cared! Annie's stocking is the little one shaped like a bone... Jinx's stocking is really MY stocking! Shawn accidentally filled the wrong one with stuff for ME! Who was I to complain, right? I tried really hard to find a cute little stocking for Jinx, but I wasn't able too. Annie's stocking was actually Kewpie's stocking when she was alive. It's passed down through generations. Both dogs enjoyed seeing what they got! After the kids opened their stockings and played with their new toys...We started with our stuff.stocking stuff is always fun! The 3D glasses came from my my parents. If you look at the Christmas lights they'll glow with either a star or snowflake (depending on which pair you have on). They made our tree look so pretty! Christmas stocking toys are always so fun! Shawn even got a little ping-pong set. Whee! Aren't we so cute? We're full of Christmas spirit! While we good around with the toys, Annie and Jinx kept busy with their stocking stuffers! I love how they're all snug in the dog bed, each with a bone. Awwwww.Jinx got the Ultimate Jinx Toy: It's a rope - which he loves, two pig hooves - which he LOVES, and a little bone in the middle - which, you know, he loves. He's already pulled the two hooves off. ha!Annie made her Daddy a card: She's even on the cover! She's such a talented and creative doggie! As always, I was beyond spoiled. Maybe I should change the name of my blog? Hmmm. Here is but a smattering of what my wonderful husband got me: I love Snoopy! This little box is so cute! I have already droped it a few times. I should never be given anything fragile... Can someone remind me which is the salt and which is the pepper? Two holes salt, three holes pepper? Or other way around? I never know these things! I also got a plethora of DVDs. Yay, me! And can you see that one on the desk lying down? Huh? Can you? Let me show you... HA HA HA! This is so awesome! We just watched it during dinner (El Paso Tacos, yo!) How funny is this. I love She-ra! She's hot.And the BEST gift? You want to know? The ULTIMATE BEST CHRISTMAS GIFT EVER??? It's a SESAME STREET CHRISTMAS CD!! Wooty woot! I just adore this album. I had it as a kid and I loved it. There was only one other album that I loved as much and they haven't made it into a cd yet (Snoopy Christmas.. but it wasn't Snoopy-Snoopy, it was just this album with Snoopy on the cover) And now I have this one. Yay!So from all of us here at the House of Pook (sap!) to all of you - MERRY CHRISTMAS! And I hope you all get everything your heart desires.. and have health and happiness and all that other stuff.
