Wicked Lovely
Wicked Lovelyby Melissa MarrI finished this book yesterday afternoon and I was quite pleased with the whole experience. The story didn't quite follow the path I thought it would, although there still were many predictable points. I shall not hold it against the story though as it was still entertaining enough to keep me turning the pages. What I was surprised with however was the fact this seems to be a stand-alone novel. No clever cliff-hanging ending to make you throw the book down and curse the author for dangling that carrot in front of your nose.If Melissa Marr does ever write a sequel to Wicked Lovely, I'd be interested in reading it just to see which way she takes the characters.There were some parts of the story I wasn't all that keen on. A couple of times I found it dragged just a little too long, and occasionally I found Aislinn to be slightly irritating (but nothing compared to Bella in Eclipse, which I fear I might never finish! Even now I am busy reading Rebel Angels by Libba Bray rather than go back to Eclipse...). I also found Aislinn to be sarcastic and fun. And her friend Seth lives in train cars! Oh, how awesome! I want to live in train cars, too!I also like to think of faeries in a more friendly sense than is portrayed in this book. Plus I like to think of them as tiny like Tinkerbell, not human-sized. Even if they weren't all humanoid type creatures. But that's just me and my innocent imagination.I am kind of sorry the book is over. I was rather enchanted by it.
