In My Mailbox #18

The Story Siren hosts this feature and I end up adding a ton of books to my wishlist every week.

Gideon the Cutpurseby Linda Buckley-ArcherSimon & Schuster Kids UK

An encounter with an anti-gravity machine catapults Peter Schock and Kate Dyer back to the 18th century and sets in motion a calamitous chain of events. While a massive police hunt gets underway to find the missing children in the 21st century - in 1763 a hardened criminal, the Tar Man, steals the anti-gravity machine and disappears into the London underworld. Stranded in another time and forced to chase the Tar Man to his lair, Peter and Kate find a friend and guide in reformed cutpurse, Gideon Seymour. Gideon does every thing he can to help them, but will his dark past catch up with him before the machine is recovered?

I was super luck to win this book from Simon & Schuster Kids UK on Twitter last week! This is the first time I have ever won something through Twitter. Wheee! And it came in the mail less than a week after I won it. Super awesome shipping those S&S Kids UK people have! It sounds pretty interesting and I love how glow-y and shiny the cover is. I just discovered this book was released in North America in 2006 and ew! I dislike that cover (click here!).

It was pretty exciting to get this in my mailbox on Thursday since I wasn't expecting anything to come in the mail that wasn't a bill this week. Heh. So, thank you big time, S&S Kids UK!!

(If you want to follow me on Twitter, I'm @beyondelsewhere! But I'm warning you, I ramble a LOT. ;))
