My poor tree. The rain yesterday pretty much removed the rest of the leaves from the tree. I sat in the rocking chair and snapped photos of the tree during the storm through the lightning and watched as my window weeped for the loss of summer leaves.All the other trees on the block look summery as they should. It's just us. With our dead tree and 7 garbage bags of dead leaves on our front lawn.The very strong smell of dead leaves is coming through the front window. Luckily it's overcast today or those windows and the blind would be closed due to the sun. We do not have shade from the afternoon sun anymore.This tree causes us to curse in the fall when we have to rake up all the leaves but it's amazing how much I get a pang of sadness when I look at it now and I miss my summer tree. The summer smells. It just smells like the precursor to winter now in my living room.So very sad. :(
