My only problem now is that with having finished this book I know I only have TWO more books to go for this series. I CAN'T HANDLE THAT! *shudder*I'm going to go through some crazy drug addict-type withdrawal here. You know the kind you see on prime time dramas like Law & Order and CSI and NCIS (I ? Abby!) and medical shows (which I can't watch because I have way too weak of a stomach. Ick!). But it's going to be rough. Very, very rough.Ok, so... Elspeth is suddenly Master of Obernewtyn since Rushton has to travel to the Low lands to meet with the rebels as they decided that they did in fact want the Misfits' help with the rebellion. At the same time, all who sleep and dream in Obernewtyn are haunted (or hunted) by a flying creature who disrupts their slumber. They realize it is a dragon invading their dreams, which leads them to realize that the comatose Dragon's mind has been invading everyone else's. She in particular wants to harm Elspeth. Rushton goes missing and some of the rebels betray the Misfits, almost causing them to be slaughtered.So much goes on in this book I can't summarize it all or I'll never get to my thoughts - my thoughts are OHMYGAWD I LOVE THIS SERIES.Very mature, I know. Quite the elegant and well-written review, isn't it?So aside from the fact that the writing is enchanting and the characters are enchanting and the story itself is enchanting (but not in a Disney Princess sort of way), I would also like to take a moment to talk about how the covers themselves are enchanting.There is something about seeing these books in person and holding them in my hand that draws me to them as I read. Each book has a girl's face an an animal cleverly intertwined in one image. I think they are breathtaking. I didn't realize it until I was reading it, but this book, The Keeping Place, has Dragon, a dragon AND Marumon the cat all swirled in red and gold. I had thought there to only be the girl and dragon at first.The cover art is just as rich as the words written within the book.Only two more to go. *sighs*The Obernewtyn Chronicles
