Due to my book buying addiction I started this  feature on my blog where I post about the book(s) I bought that week. Not something I plan on having every week – though it seems to be turning out that way.  So here’s what I bought this week!

I didn't even know this series existed! Once I saw it was coming out I had to get it. I am really hoping that it is better than Night World, which I didn't like, and more like the Secret Circle trilogy which I worship. Prophecy of the Sistersby Michelle Zink

Not only does this have a ?Kim Harrison? story in it - these are all authors that are coveted for my bookshelves! I collect each of their books like I need them to breathe. How could I NOT get this the second my store got it in stock?And finally, I have a confession to make. One that shames me to no end and it's the first time this has ever happened to me. I can hardly bring myself to admit it outloud, but it's such an epic fail on my part and makes me a disgrace to all former booksellers out there that I have to.When I finished Karen Marie Moning's Faefever I was desperate for the next book because of the extreme cliff-hangery way it ended. Trouble was, Dreamfever was coming out in hard cover. I don't BUY $36 hard covers (unless they happen to be written by ?Kim Harrison?) and because it wouldn't match my 3 mass market books already on my shelf. But I NEEDED to know what happens. And then Kristi (The Story Siren) was posting her reactions on Twitter as she read it and my suspense just doubled. So when I was in the store on Monday picking up my L.J. Smith book I saw that there was ONE hard cover on the shelf next to the rest of the Fever series. I picked it up, looked at the cover flap and was happy to note that it was *only* $28. So I skipped to the cash (yes, I actually did that) and bought it with my other finds.I bought the WRONG book!What I actually purchased was the second book in the series, Bloodfever, which has been in paperback for almost 2 years (I think). And when did I notice this? When I was sitting down to enter my books into LibraryThing and it said "Duplicate ISBN in inventory". I didn't see how that would be possible and that's when I looked at the cover of the book and noticed... oh, crap!I was so mad at myself! I have never returned a book that *I* have bought in my life. And after 10 years of bookstore experience, I am pretty darn good at books. OH MY GOD! I had to walk back into that store the next day and sheepishly return it. Sadly, they did not yet receive their order of Dreamfever, and sadly it's $32 but now I have to buy it just to save face. I let my bookstore friends laugh at me and make fun of me as I hid my head in shame while being refunded.I can't believe I did that.True story.
