Out of My Pocket #17
Due to my book buying addiction I started this feature on my blog where I post about the book(s) I bought that week. Not something I plan on having every week – though it seems to be turning out that way. So here’s what I bought this week!

I lasted quite a while with not going into a bookstore. Almost all month. That is a huge thing for me. It didn't help that work and health kept me otherwise occupied during lunch hours. And there was that accidental buying of 4 books online from the UK 2 weeks ago. *cough* And this week I would have made it through, only went I went out for lunch on my own Friday I forgot my book in my desk and so I HAD to get another one to read while I ate, right? Right? RIGHT!
Dreamfever (the right one, this time)Karen Marie Moning
MacKayla Lane lies naked on the cold stone floor of a church, at the mercy of the erotic Fae master she once swore to kill. Far from home, unable to control her sexual hungers, MacKayla is now fully under the Lord Master’s spell.…In New York Times bestselling author Karen Marie Moning’s stunning new novel, the walls between human and Fae worlds have come crashing down. And as Mac fights for survival on Dublin’s battle-scarred streets, she will embark on the darkest—and most erotically charged—adventure of her life.
*snipped for length, because Amazon.ca has one hella-long description* So I started this as I ate my Chicken McNuggets (do not judge me!) and I have to say.. um.. what? Not liking it so far, mind you I am only 40 or so pages in. Born of Nightby Sherrilyn Kenyon
In the Ichidian Universe, The League and their ruthless assassins rule all. Expertly trained and highly valued, the League Assassins are the backbone of the government. But not even the League is immune to corruption . . . Command Assassin Nykyrian Quikiades once turned his back on the League-and has been hunted by them ever since. Though many have tried, none can kill him or stop him from completing his current mission: to protect Kiara Zamir, a woman whose father's political alliance has made her a target. As her world becomes even deadlier, Kiara must entrust her life to the same kind of beast who once killed her mother and left her for dead. Old enemies and new threaten them both and the only way they can survive is to overcome their suspicions and learn to trust in the very ones who threaten them the most: each other.
Now, I don't really know about this one, but I got an email this past week advertising it and when I saw it in the store AND I needed an extra $8 to qualify for the $40 worth of coupons from Chapigo, I thought, Eh? Why not? So I picked this up and I will see. It does sound interesting and one of the forthcoming books in the series has the word Fire in the title, and I have a weakness for fire. (Except of course, that time when I watched my home burn down for 4+ hours in March 2006. That wasn't so fun. But I digress.)So yes, I made it almost 4 weeks without stepping into a bookstore and in the one day I am back I spend $40-ish bucks to get some coupons. One of which is a buy-one-get one free admission to the movie theatre, which will be helpful for Shawn and I when we go see some movie in the next couple of weeks. (I am thinking Invention of Lying. Tuesday night I will be having a Girl's Night and we're going to see Fame!).
