Rambling Reader: Sequels I am Looking Forward to This Fall
There are so many new books coming out right now, that I am slightly overwhelmed. Due to an abysmal financial situation at the moment, I won't be buying many (if any). I have managed to read more than 12 books for the Debut Author Challenge this year, so I figure I am going to devote any new reads from now until December to sequels that I am dying to read. So many of them come out between now and the end of 2011 that I think I should be ok if I only focus on those. In case you were curious as to what I am anxiously awaiting, here's a list!(Not in chronological order, rather in order that I am desperate for them!)
Prized (Birthmarked, #2) - Caragh M. O'Brien - November 2011Drink Deep (Chigagoland Vampires, #5) - Chloe Neill - November 2011Beautiful Chaos (Castor Chronicles, #3) - Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl - October 2011
Guardian of the Green Hill - Laura Sullivan - October 2011In the Forests of the Night (Goblin Wars, #2) - Kersten Hamilton - November 2011
MOST IMPORTANTLY!
The Sending: Obernewtyn Chronicles, #7 - Isobelle CarmodyThe Red Queen: Obernewtyn Chronicles, #8 - Isobelle Carmody
BOTH of these books were expected LAST MAY. As in, May 2010. And then they showed up for pre-order for JULY 2010 (and yes, that post I linked to is from November 2009!) Yet, us avid readers are still awaiting publication. Right now they are expected in November of this year (2011, for those of you playing at home). I have them both on pre-order from Book Depository, and I wonder what happens when the publication date gets pushed back AGAIN. Because I know it will happen. At the very least, I don't think I'll be seeing The Red Queen for some time. It's possible I will get to see and read The Sending before the end of the year we are currently in. Honestly, I am not holding my breath. By golly am I desperate for these two books to come out, though. I pre-ordered them ages ago (before I had the money issues) so I feel like I have been waiting for them forever. The bright side? I didn't start reading this series back in the 80s when the author started writing it, so I haven't been waiting as long as many others. What sequels are you highly anticipating for this fall? I'd like to know! (PS - I know that they aren't all *official* sequels, but since they are the following book in a series that I have been reading, I just clumped them all together. This does not include what I am eagerly awaiting for January & February, either. Might have to do another post for that!)
