NOTE: I may have solved my cover image dilemma. The only problem being that I can't find a frame that I like enough in PS Elements. =P I have been trying out various ways to get what I want, but it's not like it was and I am a creature who does not handle change well. Not to mention I only have this trial for 27 more days so I suppose I need to make up my mind whether or not I like it and then save up the $130 to buy it if I do. Since I did just buy myself a shiny new macbook this past weekend (after killing my husband's) I am not exactly flush with the cash flow. Anyhow, I need to figure something else.  I could dual boot my mac to Windows, but the only version we still have CDs for is ancient and I hate Windows anyhow. This new method of creating the images I want leaves something to be desired since I don't have as many backgrounds to choose from to match the book, which will make keeping continuity in images with books in a series impossible. Oh, how I wish I was more adaptable!AND now on to the actual reason I am writing this - I finished Supernaturally and need to write about it!Sequels to awesome first books are a difficult beast. They can be worse than the first, better than the first or the same. Supernaturally was not worse than Paranormalcy but I didn't have the same connection with it as I did the first book. Much of this was because I hated Jack. Jack made Evie act like a spoiled brat, stupid person. I like Evie A LOT and seeing her become moronic was just aggravating!I love that Evie is obsessed with having a locker at school. Hee! Have to say I agree with that. I sort of miss my school lockers because they are an extension of yourself through out your formative years. They hold your books, your bag, your coat and whatever awesome photos/mirrors/things you want to stick on the inside wall of the door. I loved organizing and decorating my lockers in school. I don't even have an office with a door now, I just have a "station" in an open area and it's harder to personalize when you don't have WALLS. Ugh.But I digress (as usual). Supernaturally is just as funny, witty and fun as its predecessor, but I didn't connect with it as much because I didn't like one of the more front and centre characters and I didn't like that Evie was acting out of character, although it fit VERY well with her natural growth as a person. Face it, she's on her own trying to be a normal teenage girl for the first time ever, she will make mistakes and she will learn lessons. She's been sheltered for so long it's only natural for her to be slightly naive and innocent in some cases. I felt that her out-of-character-ness was very much IN character with how she should have progressed. Still doesn't mean I liked that she was being a stupidhead. Why does every teen novel have an evil gym teacher? I didn't particularly care for Phys. Ed when I was in high school but my teachers were all nice. Sure there were some that weren't but I was lucky enough to not have them. Just once I'd like there to be a nice gym teacher in a teen novel or tv show. Poor gym teachers. They have a bad rap. ;)There's more I want to comment on from the story, but it will spoil things, so I won't. Instead I'll mention that you should TOTALY read the ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS at the end of the book because they rock. Kiersten White is possibly one of the funniest authors I have read in a while. I would like to meet her in person because I am pretty sure she will sound like she writes. I loved the acknowledgements almost as much as the story. Read them, you'll thank me.Paranormalcy series
