The Blue Girl

The Blue Girl The Blue Girlby Charles de LintI LOVED THIS BOOK! And you know something? I was sure I wouldn't like it at all. There was just something about it that made me think I would be bored or irritated throughout the entire story, but I wasn't. I was most pleasantly surprised and entertained by this novel.I did think the ending was a little...meh, but aside from that I was so enraptured by the story and the characters that I didn't care so much as to be a little sad that it was over. I had tried to read another Charles de Lint book a long time ago (I do not recall which one) and I remember thinking it was boring and not my style so I was very hesitant about this novel. However I needed stuff to read on my vacation and went for it.I am very glad I did.Imogene is a punky teen who for some reason catches not only the eyes of the school ghost, and faeries, but also the soul-eaters. She and her new friend Maxine an outcast find adventure and magic among the shadows.Well written, humour in some places and tears in others. I only put it down because I NEEDED to sleep at some point, or needed to get up, dressed and out the door to one of the Disney parks. Heh.I am sending this one to Monkey next time I see her. ;) So apparently Monkey has this one already and I told her I didn't want to read it. Um... back to you.
