The Good Girls' Ghouls' Guide to Getting Even
The Good Girls’ Ghouls’ Guide to Getting Evenby Julie Kenner
Elizabeth Frasier’s ticked off. Her junior year of high school was going just fine. But thanks to a bunch of jerkwad vampire jocks, she ended up undead, and with a thirst that a thousand Diet Cokes couldn’t quench. Now she’s out for blood-and revenge. And she knows exactly what to do…Elizabeth’s read Salem’s Lot. Separate the good vamps from the bad and wipe out the crowd that did her in. On top of that, she’s got to figure out how to be mortal again-unless universities start accepting dead girls.
I loved reading this book! I started it when I got home last night and I wasn't feeling very well, so I carried it around with me in case I needed to spend some quality time in the bathroom. (Will spare you the details!) From the first chapter I was laughing out loud. I continued to read the book this afternoon while in the bath and then outside on my back deck. It's a short book - 247 pages - but it's such fun!Beth is witty and sarcastic and someone I would love to be friends with. There are many pop culture type references, but nothing too obnoxious. One of my favourite lines was:
"Or which is really the better show: Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Firefly."
Ha! For the record, I have to pick Buffy. This book didn't TRY to be Buffy or anything else for that matter. It stands alone and it was funny and clever and well-written. I enjoyed all 247 pages of it and I am very happy I picked up both this and the second one, Good Girls Ghouls Do at the Chapters in Fredericton! The Ghoul series
