the magic of a song
My inlaws have satelite TV and with it comes all those satelite radio station. Generally my mother-in-law has on the Rock n Roll station on weekend when she irons, etc. I really liked it and would listen to it down here in the basement as I was on the computer. My little wait in the waiting room last week and a conversation with Shawn made me wish there was a 90s station - lo and behold there is!Only it wasn't really playing the songs I was nostalgic for and then yesterday it sort of crapped out on me. No sound. So I flipped it to the 80s station (where they boast "all retro 80s music all the time" er... as opposed to all the current 80s music out there??). However this station is playing all the stuff I wanted to hear! Apparently what I thought was 90s music was 80s. I guess my most vivid memories of music are from 88 and 89. Because all of a sudden yesterday they played U Can't Touch This by MC Hammer, and I was sure that was a 90s song. And today I listened to Straight Up by Paula Abdul. Whee! I love that song. It's stations like this that make me contemplate satelite radio in the car. (My father-in-law has it) but I am still too stuck on having to PAY for radio in the car. No way. Maybe when we're not in debt anymore. Heh.Oo, I should have Shawn pick up a lotto ticket on his way home so we can maybe win some money and we won't be in debt anymore. Good plan, eh?I ? music so very, very much.
