Twelve Sharp

Twelve Sharpby Janet EvanovichThank you Town Library for having these books on your shelves and reminding me how much I love this series.Twelve Sharp has Stephanie Plum working once again for her cousin Vinnie's Bonding company. Oddly there is no mention of her leaving that all behind in the last book, I found that rather confusing (and wondered if perhaps I had forgotten how to count and accidentally missed a book). This time around, Stephanie finds herself trying to help the mysterious (and yummy!!) Ranger clear his name and save his daughter (who I actually forgot he had. That is what happens when you wait a few years before starting up a series again!) Someone is impersonating Ranger and giving him a bad name. Of course this anti-Ranger is out to kidnap Stephanie since she will complete his fantasy and they will live happily ever after.I was slightly disappointed by this novel, not once does Stephanie Plum have her car blown up, or a building. Drat. Although there was mucho Ranger action which was quite nice for me (Go, Team Ranger!) and little Morrelli action (though a hilarious dinner scene at Stephanie's parents place that actually had me laughing out loud!). Twelve Sharp delves a little deeper into the mysterious life of Ranger - fun for us readers who want to know more. We find out as Stephanie finds out, which is a fun way of keeping us tagging along for the ride.Janet Evanovich has never lost it in the humour department as far as I am concerned and she writes a pretty good mystery too on top of all the giggles and smirks. I am happy I was able to take two of her books out at once this library trip. I am in a Stephanie Plum sort of mood these nights, what with my not sleeping and stress and all. Books that I do not have to think about while reading and that make me chuckle. I call that a great read!Stephanie Plum series
