destruction chronicles - home stretch?
Yesterday, while living through 111F weather a wondrous thing happened - we are no longer on temporary water! We're getting our water direct from the pipes under the ground! This is awesome for a couple of reasons:1) This might almost be DONE and we can get our mail at home and we can have paved roads and driveway and no more BEEEEEEEPing construction vehicles will wake me up before 7AM while I am on vacation next week.and2) Do you have any idea how un-cold water is when it comes from hoses that are above-ground, in your front yard and roasting in the 111F degree sun? When I took my shower on Monday night I had the knob turned all the way to COLD ONLY and the shower was STILL warm. Ugh.So now we have COLD water once more, better water pressure AND I can turn my hose back on in the back yard so that I can spray myself and the dogs with COLD water to try and survive this heat.Speaking of which, I am going to shut down the computer, spray myself with COLD water and read my book in the bedroom which is the only room with a/c in the house. (Which, by the by, when it's this hot and humid out only cools the bedroom to 86F. Ick.)
