driveway destruction chronicles - day 1
So, on April 10 we were notified by the city that our street and property would be dug up from May to October of this year. If you recall this notification came 3 days after we came home to find a hole in our patio stone walkway with a stick in it.I joked last week that we'll probably come home from work every day and not know what to expect. And then it became May and I completely forgot that it was May until we came home to this:I didn't even notice it when I got out of the car as it was behind the car even if it was on the same side I was on. Shawn noticed it when he walked around the car to the front door. Lovely.
They didn't even clear away what they broke up. I mean, really! It's our WALKWAY. I would consider this a hazard, no? I mean, what if we got home at NIGHT and didn't see this and Shawn had tripped??
We also have a new stick in the yard with a little flag on it. Now I don't know if this is aqueduct related or Bell telephone related as they also seem to have spray paint and flags all over our area too. I don't know if this means this is as far as they will dig up our yard once they start digging up the street or what.
At least we're not as bad as our neighbours. I mean that hole with the rubble is right in the middle of where they park their cars!! Can you imagine coming home at night and running over that? What the hell!I have decided that I am going to chronicle this entire fustercluck of a situation. If not for my sanity and your amusement, but for archival purposes in case something really stupid happens and I want to have photo proof for the city if I need it.So I guess we'll be coming home every night to a new mysterious hole in the ground and not know what to expect from now until October (or later) when they pave everything back up.I hope you all enjoy suffering along with me as I update you whenever something new happens in these Destruction Chronicles!
