Help! Trying to find a book

Tiger that eats words

HappyCat UPDATE!! :: Thanks to Facebook someone commented on my post and found me the book! Wheee! I should have my very own copy from Amazon.ca in a little over a week - used, of course, but I don't care! The book? "Oh Dear", Said Tiger by Donald Bisset. Yippee! Thank you internet! When I was a kid, somewhere between 7 and 10 I think, I was given this old book by my mother and I loved it. It was hard cover, orange-ish and a chapter book. The story was about this little tiger that ate words (or stories). He would have conversations with the narrator (author?) and then eat the stories. There were images in the book of the cute little tiger and the words on the page would be missing from where he ate, etc.I loved this book. But do you think I can remember the title? Or find it online? There is only so much Google can search! "Story about a tiger who eats words" etcI just now spoke with my sister who just justified my insanity about this book. I was beginning to think that I had just dreamed the whole idea and there really wasn't a book out there of this nature. But once I described it to her she remembered reading it when we were kids, though does not remember the title either.I have no idea how many people might read this blog, but I thought I'd post my plight on here just in case someone else out there might have heard of this book. It might have been British... maybe? I think it was. Or if anyone out there is better at research than I am (ha! So, that would be everyone...) maybe help me figure out how else to look this book up?Maybe the title was "The something Tiger"? I think Tiger was in the title...gah! It's been plaguing me for years this mystery book and I want the torment to end!!
