sweet smell of freedom
Oh, happy day! Oh, joyous of joys! I don't have to go to work today. In fact I don't have to go to work until February 18th! What a wonderful feeling that is. Even though I was up at 7:30 ready for my 7:50 am web check-in I don't care! I can go back to sleep after I finish this post and eat my marmalade toast. (Yum, by the way.)So we're all checked in and I have printed the boarding passes. There was a slight moment of panic during the check-in when I was trying to switch our seats. When I started the check-in the seats were assigned already, I was at a window seat (which I LOVE) and poor Shawn would have been stuck in the middle between me and goodness knows who else. So I tried to change that, but I couldn't move Shawn, only myself, so I switched me to an aisle seat, thinking maybe I could move Shawn around after that. But no. So I tried to put me back in the window seat and it was GONE already. Eeek! I was worried that I suddenly was without a seat, all I was trying to do was get Shawn on the aisle seat. But no. I ended up with me in the aisle and Shawn in the middle. Oops. Oh, well, maybe we can get them to switch it while we're there checking our baggage? Apparently the Westjet people are nice so maybe they can make a note on their flight manifest when we're in the plane and we ask if we can switch? I don't want poor Shawn stuck for 3.5 hours. Ugh. Although I don't really know how this all works since I don't really travel all that often. On the bright side, we're right near the front of the plane. We're in row 3. Woot! (I was hoping to pick our seats in the first row so we'd have better leg room. But no. :)). At least it won't take us a billion years to get off the plane when we get to Orlando. This time tomorrow? I should be really high up in the air. I'm slightly nervous about that, but also excited that I will not be HERE. Heh.Shawn made arrangements with work to leave at 3:00 this afternoon so he'll be home early. We'll do some last minute stuff, drop the dogs of at the in-laws (at least a 2.5 hour round trip.. bleh) and then come home and finish off the packing (which we got a lot of done last night).Still to do:
wash sheets- done!wash towels- done!wash the few clothes I have left that I am taking with me (jeans, comfy socks, etc)- done!- clean
bathroomsand kitchen sink - Well 2/3 bathrooms are done... mine left to do and the kitchen sink... wash last of dishes and put them away- done!vacuum- done! (thanks to Shawn)- move furniture for floor varnishing while gone - working on this now at 8:44 pm
change sheets- done!eat at some point- doing that right now! Grilled cheese. Yum!nap- well that didn't work, I'm too revved up!- finish packing
That seems like a lot... hmm. I'll put a load of laundry on now while I go back and try to catch a few more hours of sleep (I was WIDE AWAKE AT 4AM! Gah!).Oh, I also have to email both parents and the monkey contact information and flight information. Will keep PassPorter book next to computer so that I remember to do that. By the way, I love, love, LOVE this book and made sure to get the 2008 version once we knew we were going. I had one in 2004 and it's fantastic! I plan to do a book blog post about it (sometime today, I hope!). If you're ever thinking of going to Disney World (or Cruise, or Land) get this book! Seriously. It's fun! And it had handy-dandy PassPockets to keep your stuff in! Wheeee!
